Despite all the crises endured during the production, Men in Black 3 is a good Men in Black. A good movie? No, definitely not. Non-fans of the franchise can immediately spend their path, the film is full of defects unacceptable having regard to its enormous budget. But if it goes well, then you’re immersed in the childhood!
So why a difference between a good TREE and a good movie? Already, because Sonnenfeld actually the fan service. MIB3 is peppered with numerous references to the universe of the franchise, that I will quote for you to preserve the surprise. Without these small blinks of an eye, the movie would lose a lot of its lustre.
Then, MIB3 fully accepts it as such, therefore, we are entitled, often, in the classic theme, a slightly remixed, as soon as one has an action “MIBesque”. And that, it poses the fan! Really! The immersion is great, but I doubt that a layman is also affected by your servant.
Okay so let’s move now to the real flaws of this film, which is far from free. First of all, the many rewritings of the scenario pose a few problems of consistency that anyone will notice, especially around the neutralizer. Then, the period of the film in 1969 could have been better fucking. Apart from A few references sympathetic, it’s hard to believe that in 1969.
I think they would have had to draw a little more back to the future (I am disappointed that there is no reference to the wise Robert Zemeckis) where the changing times are still much more blatant. But mostly, the real problem is that if the beginning of the film in my eyes is perfect, as soon as Tommy Lee Jones is no longer there… There’s something missing. The interpretation of Josh Brolin, however, is not to question, far from it: he plays perfectly K never caricature but… It lacks a grain of salt as Tommy Lee Jones, and which gives its letters of nobility to the franchise.
But, that does not mean that we cannot enjoy ourselves like crazy. A lot of humour, a Will Smith in great shape, and the arrival of Emma Thompson in the cast bring a lot of freshness to the entire whole, I never had the impression that they may serve me in the warm, or see a film exclusively commercial, what he is yet.

So here’s, a good entertainment that meets the specifications of Men in Black: better than the second, obviously lower than the first. I’m satisfied !
