We think we’ve seen it all when it comes to Heroic Fantasy, we believe that Tolkien’s purity is unrivalled, and we believe it’s not tomorrow that a fantasy series will be able to dethrone, at the very least compete with Games of Thrones, we believe all that and much more and then comes this alchemy of souls!

A slightly long first half of the season apart from the first episode, especially since each lasts around 1h15 min. A sort of Asian vaudeville that is rather charming but which may displease. It at least has the merit of installing characters deeply in our minds. They constantly alternate between the serious and the laughable to the point that we wonder if we’re going to stay. Ultimately, we will have difficulty getting rid of these characters or not sharing their joys and sorrows.

Their beauty, their purity (Seo Yul particularly…but not all!), their candour, their kindness moves, they move us because they take us back to the elves and hobbits of Middle Earth, minus the pointy ears and hairy feet. and save us from reality. The bad guys and their turpitudes excite us, annoy us and above all deception, baseness and instrumentalization horrify us and plunge us back into our fears. We are tossed around, we are caught!

This first half has the merit of laying solid foundations and if we are willing to wait a little before the prelude, the appetizers, we will be rewarded by the fireworks which will follow and which will be delivered to us crescendo. It must also be admitted that we sometimes struggle to understand the tortuous scenario, some situations are a little confusing but little by little the light is coming and as everything is so beautiful in this magical world we find ourselves drugged by this atmosphere, shot! The fix of fantasy and unreal purity then takes us off our sofa and makes us forget the little forceps of the Dantesque scenario, our daily difficulties.

Again and again this old dream of immortality, again the magic, of course, mysterious stones with immense and stellar powers which bring us back to the Naar stones of Richard Corben in Den, a very small background of very smooth class struggle quite simply invisible as admitted and finally stories of complex filiations, family or not, which make those of Star Wars seem like star wars rupees!

We are therefore in the presence of great Korean entertainment or magical Sageuk fantastico to follow in original version of “Corsican Egg!” because listening to this language is truly delectable. It’s beautiful and so well-overplayed! So we can’t wait: When is season 2?

Ah yes, before we leave, could you tell me if by chance you followed these adventures, who is Master Yoda?

Season 2

The scenario, the coherence if indeed we are still a little attached to it so stunned by the statuesque beauty of the characters are mishandled. It’s a shame but hey it still works, let’s repeat it we’re hooked. In addition, this season will be the scene of the fight of virtue against evil. The powerful, hungry for power, risk breaking their bones and even if this Manichaeism is trivial, it warms the heart. You’ll find out everything in the last two episodes, Na!

For my part, I cried my eyes out for my lost love since Jung So-min (Mudeok/Naksu) is not in season two. Then from the second episode, I fell madly in love with Go Yoon-jung (Naksu/Bu-Yeon) who made me forget the frail or powerful Mudeok/Naksu to such an extent that I only see her magnificent face vaguely disturbed by the purity of the other actors and the adventures that I follow from time to time. My advice is not to try to understand or just a little and let yourself be lulled tenderly, bewitched by Korean charm. Yes, magic exists, it’s in his eyes!
